French architects Guihun Choe and Etienne Jaunet designed this elaborate “skyscraper city”, for lack of a better term, that functions more as a skeleton rather than a fully functional building. More images included.
The structure works as a backbone wherein patrons can purchase volumes of space and fill them with any unit/garden they like, as long as it follows certain design guidelines. Similar to any city, certain common services are taken care of including basic infrastructure and communal areas such as parks, plazas, and shopping areas. The building is also equipped with recycling centers and energy generation for the units is largly offset by windturbines and solar cells embedded into the skeleton. The idea isnt quite that revolutionary in theory, but the execution is quite impressive.
Very scholastic article..
