WHAT’S UP, FOXLIN?

UPDATE ON WHAT’S HAPPENING AT FOXLIN

This summer has been filled with endless hours spent behind the computer drawing designs, in front of clients, and out on project sites.  We want to highlight, Melissa Goeritz, one of our project engineers this month. Melissa alone is managing eight of the twenty-one projects we have on the board currently. Mrs. Goeritz started with FoxLin a year and nine months ago. In that short time, she has proven that she has the ability to juggle several projects; she has a vision and can articulate it, and most importantly she is a great communicator.
We have more to brag about Melissa and we plan to in our upcoming Newsletter; which will be released early fall.  For now, let’s take a look at some of the projects she has been managing.

Mateo

Mateo Lofts is made up of four duplex apartment buildings situated in San Clemente, California.  The site consists of four north-south lots, each with its own duplex.  The lofts feature large, open floor plans with garden views and balconies to allow for an indoor-outdoor living experience.  Each building is capped with a shared roof deck, providing expansive views and ample space for entertaining.  The buildings are joined by a pedestrian mall running through the center of the four lots, creating an inviting sense of community.

Balboa

1045 Balboa is a 3-story duplex project consisting of 3,421 square feet of living space located on popular Balboa Boulevard in Newport Beach.  The project features two unique dwelling units each with their own design features and spatial qualities. Unit 1 fronts Balboa Boulevard and features a stair tower clothed in a green screen with a large master patio, living room balcony, and a third-floor roof deck. Unit 2 offers a two-story, double-height kitchen and dining space with a sky bridge connecting to the living space. This unit also has a roof-deck which provides views of the Pacific Ocean.

Del Obispo

The house is on an irregularly shaped lot on a lively street in San Juan Capistrano, California. The architectural design bends with the curve of the road, deliberately placing specific rooms on the back of the house which fronts onto a pastoral hillside as the backdrop for the rear yard. The large, 4,000 square foot garage includes a half bath and 1220 square feet of lofted storage.  It is accompanied by a 3 bedroom, 3 ½ bathroom home, which features a double-height entry and an open floor plan with lofted ceilings over the living and dining rooms.

Nottingham

This residence is a complete remodel with a second story addition to add a contemporary materials palette to the exterior and an open plan to the interior.  The plan creates an open collection of spaces flowing from the living space, dining room, and kitchen and is separated only by an open fireplace. The design also embraces southern California indoor/outdoor lifestyles with 4 multi-slide door openings leading to the backyard. The design was created so that all living spaces are open to the yard.  The yard has a lushly landscaped garden style pool and spa with a Bali inspired gazebo for gathering and entertaining. Located in Newport Beach, California this place comes alive with the landscape and open floor plan.

Fernheath Residence

This residence is a 2,189 square foot, three bedroom two bath single family home with a garage.  The clients wanted a modern coastal cottage with open, bright interiors.  A large portion of the existing footprint now features a large open floor plan including living, kitchen and dining spaces all under a spacious lofted ceiling.   Three wing additions were added, extending out into the yard at 3 corners.  One wing houses the master suite, with walk-in closets, one wing serves as a front office and entry, and the third is an extension of the kitchen with a covered rear deck.  The kitchen opens up to a rear yard area with amenities such as an outdoor kitchen, fire pit seating area, and water feature.

Laurelbrook Residence

Laurelbrook Residence is a single family, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with a garage in Cerritos, California.  This design is a modern upgrade and addition to the existing single family home. This included creating an open great-room floor plan, flowing the living, dining, and kitchen into one large open space.  The landscape in the front yard was designed to provide a fresh, modern curb appeal with several raised gardens and natural landscaping. The dark stone and wood accent complements the smooth stucco backdrop.
